The Materials Manager will:

• Execute daily transactions for building materials and construction services to ensure reliable

supply of goods and services.

• Execute purchase orders through an internet-based purchasing system, maintain

purchasing information records, provide invoice discrepancy resolution, expediting, and
general purchasing activities.

• Calculate material requirements (takeoffs) from construction drawings.
• Work to resolve internal and external issues related to supply chain and the purchasing

process.

• Build and maintain effective relationships with trade partners to better meet cost and

production requirements.

• Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support,

availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation
and history.

• Communicate product changes to Business Development, Production, Engineering and

Trade Partners as well as coordinate pricing adjustments when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Knowledgeable about the construction industry including types of building materials, costs,

construction methods and procedures.

• Ability to read blueprints, construction drawings and addendums required.
• Highly analytical, in terms of quantitative (mathematical) and qualitative (trade quality

assessment) skills.

• Proven organizational skills in a high paced work environment.
• Must be able to use word processing, e-mail and have advanced Excel spreadsheet skills

for internal and external communications, creation of reports and presentations.

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines without compromising quality of

work.

• Knowledge of business English and ability to communicate patiently and professionally with

both internal and external customers both orally and in writing. Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.

• Must enjoy fast paced, high volume work environment
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain in the Construction

Industry preferred.

• 4-year degree in Construction Management, Industrial Engineering preferred
